No. The Beginner Course starts from zero and shows every step on screen. If you can follow a video and use a mouse, you're good.

Software & hardware

The Beginner and Advanced courses use Anime Studio Pro 11, which was renamed Moho in 2016. Everything applies to current Moho Debut and Moho Pro, even where a menu has moved. We also use Photoshop or Illustrator for artwork and Audacity for sound. The Adobe Animate Course uses Adobe Animate.

No. Free tools do the same job: Krita or GIMP instead of Photoshop, Inkscape instead of Illustrator. Audacity is already free.

Debut is cheaper and fine for the Beginner Course. For the bigger scenes in the Advanced Course, Pro makes life a lot easier. Check Moho's site for current features and trials.

No. A mouse works to start, and rigs with bones mean you draw less than you'd think. A tablet helps with detailed artwork later on.

Both. The courses run in your browser, and Moho, Adobe Animate, Krita, Inkscape, GIMP and Audacity all run on Windows and macOS.

YouTube & copyright

Yes. Your animations are yours. Make them, post them, build your channel.

We teach animation, not shortcuts. Monetization depends on YouTube's Partner Program requirements and policies, which you have to meet on your own. No course can promise views or income, and we won't either.

Countryballs are a community meme format and flags are generally public symbols, so the style itself is widely used. Still, give your channel its own characters, voice and stories, and don't copy other creators' designs or videos.

Only use what you have rights to: your own work, properly licensed tracks, or royalty-free libraries like the YouTube Audio Library. Using other people's footage or music is the fastest way to a copyright claim.
