The short version

  • We collect what we need to run your account, take payments and deliver courses. That's it.
  • We don't sell your data.
  • Trusted services process data for us: Clerk, Stripe, Resend, UploadThing, Vercel and our database host.
  • You can download a copy of your data or delete your account yourself, any time, from your Account page.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

1. Who is responsible

Animate The Globe (https://www.animatetheglobe.com) is operated by the operator of Animate The Globe ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for personal data processed through the site.

To reach us, contact us through the contact page on this website.

2. What we collect

Account data: your name, email address and profile image, provided through Clerk when you sign up.

Purchase data: which courses you bought, when, what you paid, and any refund or payment dispute. Payment details are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.

Learning data: which chapters you've completed.

Technical data: IP address, browser, device and usage data collected by our hosting, video and analytics providers.

Messages: anything you send us when you contact us.

4. Who processes data for us

We use the following service providers. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy and data processing terms:

Clerk: Account sign-up, sign-in and session management.

Stripe: Payment processing and fraud prevention.

UploadThing: Hosting course videos, images and attachments.

Vercel: Website hosting and privacy-friendly usage analytics.

Resend: Sending our emails: order confirmations, account emails, offer reminders, and messages sent through the contact form to our inbox.

PostgreSQL database (hosted provider): Storing courses, purchases and your learning progress.

Some of these providers are based outside the EU/EEA (for example in the United States). Where data is transferred, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies that are necessary for sign-in, security and checkout. These can't be switched off without breaking the site.

Vercel Analytics measures page views in an aggregated way without using cookies to track you across sites.

6. How long we keep it

Account and learning data: for as long as your account exists.

Purchase and billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.

When you delete your account, we delete your profile, sign-in account, course progress, notes, reviews, certificates, usage events linked to you and the messages you sent us from your account's email address. Purchase and refund records are kept for accounting, but anonymised: they are moved to a random identifier that can no longer be linked to you. Totals such as how many courses were sold are kept.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Most of this is self-service on your Account page (/account) while signed in:

Access and portability: "Download my data" gives you a machine-readable JSON file with your purchases, refunds, course progress, reviews and certificates (where available), coupon use and the messages you sent us.

Correction: edit your name, email address and password under "Name, email & password".

Erasure: "Delete my account" deletes your account and personal data straight away, as described in section 6. It can't be undone, and you lose access to the courses you bought. Payment records held by Stripe are kept by Stripe under its own legal obligations.

For anything else, or if you can't sign in, contact us through the contact page on this website. We answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in Bulgaria, the Commission for Personal Data Protection).

8. Children

The site is not directed at children under 16. If you're younger, please use it with a parent or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has given us personal data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We'll update this policy when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date above.
